Yes, you need a residence permit to live in Switzerland for a longer period of time. Which permit is required depends on the nationality, the purpose and the duration of the stay.
The work permit depends on where you come from (EU/EFTA – country or third country) and how long and for what purpose you want to work. For EU/EFTA, a residence permit L/B/C/G (work and residence permit) applies for more than 90 days. The reporting obligation applies for less than 90 days. Insurance
Yes, health insurance is compulsory and is taken out privately. Within three months of entering the country or taking up work, you must conclude a contract with a private health insurance company.
